Staying Home For the Homeless is the YWCA Minot's very first virtual fundraiser. We are so excited to bring an evening of music, food and fun to the community.
Due to COVID-19 we have had to change what our services look like. Our emergency shelter is set up similar to a dorm room, and does not allow for social distancing. To combat this and continue to provide essential services we are issuing hotel vouchers. One voucher costs $55 a night, this was not an expense we budgeted for. However, we will not stop helping this community just because an obstacle lies in front of us. Our women face unimaginable challenges on daily basis. We are not going to let COVID-19 stop us from being there for them on some of the hardest days of their life. Hotel vouchers is an exciting, but financially challenging venture that led us to create Staying Home For The Homeless. The YWCA is hosting this virtual concert to help us raise funds for these hotel vouchers. As well as we hope to bring a little joy and entertainment to the whole community. |
